Polycondensation in a spray of aqueous-alcoholic solution of lactic acid

The removal of low molecular weight products the reaction and heat withdrawal is one problems bulk polycondensation. Polycondensation under spray conditions an effective way to solve these problems. Based on example reversible lactic acid polycondensation, it was shown that size effects can significantly affect conversion rate, degree polymerization, rate processes. Chemical thermodynamics suggests chemical equilibrium in a shifts towards formation polylactide. In addition, recondensation volatile components (water, acid, solvent) stabilizes concentration reagents temperature drops throughout entire process. Model experiments confirming obtained regularities are presented. Microscopic observation sessile aqueous aqueous-alcoholic solutions demonstrated polylactide normal (without heating, catalyst, evacuation).
